Aegon Asset Management, the Dutch fund manager, has hired Andrew Fleming, former chief investment officer and global head of portfolio management at ABN Amro Asset Management, to turn around performance in its troubled equity business.

He will work at the Edinburgh-based arm of the Dutch fund manager, which has taken almost a year to replace former chief investment officer Wendy Hay.
