Research shows that finance companies tend to use more competitive and combative language in job adverts than other industries

‘Aggressive’ job ads put women off banking

The way that banks write their job adverts could be putting women off applying for roles, according to research commissioned by Financial News. 

Bank bosses and recruiters have long complained that not enough women apply for jobs in the financial services sector. One reason could be that jobs in the sector frequently use "masculine words" such as brilliant, dominant, superior and aggressive in their job postings.
