Crédit Agricole first-quarter net profits more than double

Corporate and investment bank returns to the black, driving group figures

French bank Crédit Agricole on Wednesday said first-quarter net profit more than doubled as its corporate and investment bank unit swung back into the black after several quarters of losses.

Net profit for the quarter ended March 31 increased to €470m from €202m a year earlier, falling short of an average €510.4m forecast from five analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.
