Carnwath steps down from Man board

The former investment banker tells FN her 12-year tenure on the board of the alternative investment manager was 'long enough'

Alison Carnwath, one of the most high-profile women in the UK boardroom, yesterday announced her plans to retire from her non-executive role at Man Group, saying her 12-year tenure was “long enough”.

Carnwath will retire from the alternative investment manager's board at Man's May 3 annual general meeting, the firm said in a Thursday regulatory filing. The move will mark the second FTSE 350 board post Carnworth has quit in the last year. Last July, she stepped down as head of Barclays' remuneration committee.
