Alliance Capital Management, the fund manager owned by Axa, the French insurer, has been appointed by Mackenzie Financial Corporation, a Canadian mutual fund firm, to manage a new global equity fund.

Mackenzie is launching the fund in response to changes in Canadian law, which allow Canadian investors to be more invested in non-domestic equities.
