Altheimer & Gray, the US-based law firm, has hired Daniel Preiskel to run its international telecoms and technology team.

Preiskel joins from the London law firm Steptoe & Johnson Rakisons, which he helped to found, and where he ran the international communications group. He previously spent time in investment banking in Morgan Grenfell's emerging markets telecoms team. Before that he worked at law firms SJ Berwin and Clifford Chance.
