Altor founding partner plots solo fund

Viet-Jacobsen joins a string of first-time managers in Europe that are looking to raise their own funds

A founding partner of Nordic mid-market buyout firm Altor is planning to return to the market with his own fund, joining a string of senior executives who have chosen to brave a tough fundraising market for first-time managers.

Denis Viet-Jacobsen, who was based in Altor's Copenhagen office until he left in 2010 and was one of the firm's four founding partners, is in talks about raising a new investment vehicle, according to three people familiar with the situation.
