Amex wins out in dispute with Knight Trading

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has freed the American Stock Exchange (Amex) to trade Nasdaq stocks after dismissing a complaint from Knight Trading.

Amex will be allowed to resume trading in Nasdaq stocks on Tuesday following the SEC's ruling. Amex, which launched its Nasdaq trading programme on August 12, had to stop on August 15, after the SEC received a letter of petition from Knight.
