Amvescap appoints ex-SEC lawyer to head compliance

Amvescap, the UK-listed fund group which paid $450m (€353m) to settle its involvement in the US mutual fund scandal, has named former US Securities and Exchange Commission lawyer Hal Liebes as its new chief compliance officer.

Liebes had been with Credit Suisse Asset Management since 1994 and its global general counsel since July 2002.
