Amvescap loses $12bn in three months

Amvescap, the UK-listed fund management group, reported a fall of $11.9bn (€9.3bn) in funds under management in the three months to September 30 as it continued to suffer from its involvement in the market timing scandal in the US.

Pre-tax profits for the quarter increased 8.8% to £204.7m (€161m) compared with £188.1m in 2003.
