Like most top executives, business trips have been off the agenda for Nicolas Moreau during the past 18 months. But the chief executive of HSBC’s asset management arm is only a matter of weeks away from boarding a plane to his new office in Hong Kong.

News of Moreau’s planned relocation from London earlier this year came as several other senior figures at HSBC announced they were moving to Asia, the lender’s biggest market.
