Margaret Franklin spent the majority of last year travelling the world after she became chief executive of the CFA Institute in September, flying about to meet the various movers and shakers that make up the global investment management industry.

But Franklin’s globetrotting came to an abrupt end in March, when she returned to Toronto and was unable to get back to her office in New York once the Covid pandemic forced shut the border with the US.
