Analysts predict gloomy outlook for fund firms

Listed US asset managers, which can be viewed as defensive stocks, are not isolated from a recession or weak equity markets and the outlook for both their share prices and earnings are gloomy, according to new research.

Research from analysts at Goldman Sachs and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods both said it research today that they were downgrading earnings per share expectations and share price targets.
