ANZ Investment Bank has promoted Gilles Planté to head of financial markets for Europe and the US to strengthen its franchise in those markets.

Planté has moved to the bank's London office from Melbourne, Australia, where he has worked as global head of commodities and foreign exchange derivatives since 1997. Following his appointment, he will retain his former duties.
