ANZ set to complete record deal

ANZ Investment Bank looks set to complete its biggest ever public mergers and acquisitions deal involving a European company.

The bank is acting on the UK drinks group Allied Domecq's NZ$1bn (£300m) acquisition of Montana, New Zealand's largest winemaker. The transaction is the second largest ever for the bank globally, according to data from Dealogic. The biggest was the $5.5bn (€6.1bn) deal between Overseas Union Bank and United Overseas Bank in Singapore in June this year.
