Apax Partners, the private equity firm, has hired Prof Dr Kai Deusch as a director to focus on investments in the healthcare sector.

Last year Apax invested €125m ($112m) in 15 healthcare companies in Europe and Israel. Deusch, who has 15 years experience in clinical practice and research, founded the Medicis Group, a specialist healthcare and life sciences venture capital firm.
