Moelis & Co, the independent advisory firm working on a potential $2tn share sale by the oil giant Saudi Aramco, has boosted its roster of energy experts with hires in the UK and US.

Rick Haythornthwaite has joined the firm as an advisory partner in London. Haythornthwaite is a veteran of the energy and industrial industries, whose career has included a 17-year stint at the oil major BP. He is the current chairman of energy and services company Centrica.
