Tensions between the City’s landlords and tenants could heat up in the wake of court rulings on how to deal with overdue rentals that accumulated while businesses were shuttered during the pandemic.

The coronavirus crisis has thrown many renters into difficulty, as they have had to keep up payments despite the lack of revenue coming through the doors. Private rents in some central London locations fell by as much as 20%, as landlords tried to stem the wave of business and individuals looking to relocate in the wake of pandemic.
