Argonaut Capital chief executive Barry Norris has hit out at a suggestion from JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon to ban short-selling amid a spate of mid-tier bank collapses in the US.

The City hedge fund manager, known for big gains with short-selling bets, said that “bank bulls” are planning to ban sceptical voices for the crime of making their concerns public.
