Seymour Pierce has landed the role of sole adviser to billionaire businessman Mike Ashley on his sale of Newcastle United Football Club, marking the sixth time the London-based investment bank has been mandated to work on the sale of one of the UKâÂÂs top-flight teams.
Ashley, who owns sports retailer Sports Direct International, acquired Newcastle in May last year for about £135m (â¬170m) from previous joint-owners Sir John Hall and Freddy Shepherd.
