Stunned at the lack of progress in negotiations, some fund managers are slowly activating their contingency plans

Time is running out for asset managers, as the increasing threat that the UK will crash out of the European Union in March 2019 without a deal is forcing some to lean on worst-case contingency plans.

Andreas Utermann, the London-based chief executive of Allianz Global Investors, said: “I never thought it would come to this.”
