Euan Munro to run Aviva Investors

In a serious blow to Standard Life Investments, the head of its successful Gars strategy has quit to run Aviva Investors

Euan Munro, architect of Standard Life Investments' renowned Global Absolute Return Strategy, has quit to become chief executive of Aviva Investors.

Munro, born in Fife, joined Standard Life in 1995. He has been head of multi-asset and bond strategies at Standard Life Investments since 2008, as well as chairman of Standard Life's strategic investment group. He was responsible for assets totalling nearly $200 billion.
