Aviva UK chief to depart in wake of Tulloch’s elevation

Andy Briggs, head of the insurer’s large UK business will step down, following elevation of international chief to group CEO

Aviva, the FTSE-listed insurer, has unveiled a series of changes to its senior management following last month’s elevation of Maurice Tulloch to the top job.

Andy Briggs, the chief executive of Aviva’s UK insurance division — which accounted for over two-thirds of group profits in 2018 — is to leave the company. The former chief executive of pension provider Friends Life, he took charge of the combined UK business when Aviva acquired its rival in 2015.
