Investment managers heaved a collective sigh of relief in the second quarter after UK balanced funds burst into double-digit positive territory.

A rally in global equity markets over the past three months lifted the median return for balanced pooled funds in a Financial News sample to 11.5%. The median for all funds is expected to be around the same level.
