Barclays Capital, the debt markets-focused UK investment bank, has recruited a senior strategist from the Bank of England.

Paul Robinson joined Barclays Capital yesterday as chief sterling strategist after spending 11 years with the Bank of England. His role at the Bank was to brief the monetary policy committee on the state of the UK macro-economy and its short-term prospects.
