Bank of England affirms end of bond-buying plan after report of possible extension

The Bank of England confirmed that its emergency bond-buying scheme will end on 14 October, after a Financial Times report that the central bank privately told bankers that it could extend the programme sent the pound higher.

The BoE comments, reported by Bloomberg, trimmed those gains in the British currency.
