The Bank of England, which has been criticised over a lack of female representation at its highest level, is on track for women to make up 35% of senior roles, governor Mark Carney said on June 14.

Speaking at the 22 annual Women in Banking & Finance Awards, Carney said that when he joined the central bank in 2013 just 17% of its top managers were women. To help tackle this, he launched the One Bank initiative, which promised to more than double that percentage by 2020.
