Staff at the UK's central bank are to strike for four days in July and August after voting to take action over a "derisory pay settlement" that could see up to a third of workers receive no pay rise this year.

The Unite union said in a statement today that 95% of balloted members backed strike action - which is set to be the first such walkout by Bank of England staff in more than 50 years.
