BNY Mellon expected to pay $700m to resolve currency suits

Bank of New York Mellon is preparing to pay around $700 million to resolve allegations it defrauded pension funds and other clients by overcharging them on currency transactions, according to people familiar with the matter.

Settlements could be announced as early as Thursday with New York state and federal authorities.
