Shares prices of the UK’s major banks soared on November 9 as stock markets rallied on the news that pharmaceutical firms Pfizer and BioNTech had successfully tested a coronavirus vaccine.

The two drug companies said that their BNT162b2 coronavirus vaccine showed 90% efficacy against Covid-19 in testing and could be rolled out this year.
