Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has confirmed the government will scrap the cap on banker bonuses.

"A strong UK economy has always depended on a strong financial services sector," Kwarteng said in his 23 September 'growth plan' statement. "We need global banks to create jobs here, invest here, pay tax here in London, not in Paris, not in Frankfurt, not in New York."
