In the absence of big bonuses, it seems some equities bankers are keeping their spirits up by fantasising about Hollywood actresses.

During a recent speech at the London Business School, Paul Thompson, chief operating officer for equities in Europe at Citigroup, disclosed how excited he was to find that the film star Gwyneth Paltrow had moved into the flat across the road from his own in Chelsea.
