Banks and trading firms clash with NYSE over market data

A group of banks and electronic trading firms are involved in a behind-the-scenes spat with the New York Stock Exchange over the ownership of market data, The Wall Street Journal reports.

JP Morgan, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Virtu and KCG are among those involved in the dispute over the NYSE Master User Agreement, which the exchange wants firms to sign in order to keep trading on its markets.
