Banks to demand end to state probes in research talks

Leading Wall Street banks are ready to back reform proposals put forward by regulators last week - but they will demand an end to individual state investigations as part of any settlement.

Senior lawyers from 10 Wall Street banks are to meet on Thursday with State and Federal regulators in what will be the second round of talks between the two sides over research reform.
