Barclays Capital has recruited Sir Digby Jones as a senior adviser to help build client relationships after he steps down as director-general of the Confederation of British Industry at the end of next month.

Jones, who will take up his new post at Barclays Capital in August, is leaving his role at the helm of the UK employers group after six-and-a-half years.
