Barclays staff in England are set to return to the office from Monday as large banks in the City ask staff to come back after the UK government lifted Covid-19 restrictions.

The UK lender will return to its hybrid working arrangement from 24 January, according to a person familiar with the matter, with employee numbers set to ramp up in its Canary Wharf offices. Barclays has been among the more cautious banks in asking bankers to unwind their working from home arrangements throughout the pandemic, dealmakers told Financial News previously.
