Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of the UK-based bank, has further strengthened its Latin American operations with the hire of Jose Barrionuevo from BNP Paribas as head of Latin American research.

Barrionuevo, whose appointment is the latest in a series of additions to the bank's Latin American team, will be responsible for developing the bank's presence on the sales and trading front in the dollar fixed income and Latin American local markets.
