Barclays Capital hires head of Italian investment banking

JP Morgan's Guido Pescione will join Barclays Capital in September as a managing director and head of Italian investment banking.

The former head of corporate client management in Italy for Chase Manhattan will be based in Milan for JP Morgan, reporting to Cyrus Ardalan, vice-chairman at the bank. Pescione joined Chase Manhattan in 1996, and after Chase's merger with JP Morgan he took responsibility for the bank's general, industrial and financial sponsor clients in Italy.
