Barclays Capital posts record income

Barclays Capital banked a record level of income in the first half of this year as operating profits rose 14% to £420m (€595m).

Income rose 7% to £1.3bn as the investment bank, which focuses on rates and credit, continued to improve its position in the debt markets. Revenues rose 10% year-on-year to £1.2bn.
