Barclays wealth assets hit record as Kalaris reign ends

The wealth management divisions at Barclays and Credit Suisse both increased AUM during the first three months of the year

Barclays hit a new record for assets under management in its wealth and investment management division in the first quarter – a positive final set of results for outgoing wealth chief Tom Kalaris.

The rise in assets under management to £200.2bn marks an 8% increase from the end of 2012. The rise was the result of net new high-net-worth client assets and strong market conditions, the bank said in a statement today.
