Barclays is attempting to overturn a court decision that said the UK banking giant may be liable for more than 100 claims of sexual assault.
A group of 126 people, mostly women, are seeking damages from the bank for assaults they say were committed by medical doctor Gordon Bates between 1968 and 1984. Bates was paid by Barclays during that period to perform medical checks on prospective hires and existing employees, according to court documents.
