Barclays hired Citigroup's head of investment banking for Germany as the UK lender bulks up its European presence.

Sven Baumann has joined Barclays as head of investment banking for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the bank said in a statement. He has spent the past seven years at Citigroup, where head was latterly head of its dealmaking unit in Europe's largest economy and has previously worked at Bank of America.
