Barclays opens investment bank in Mexico

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of UK bank Barclays, has opened an investment bank and broker-dealer in Mexico, Grupo Financiero Barclays Mexico.

The new branch will focus on trading, sales and risk management instruments including currency, interest rate derivatives and structured notes, while the broker-dealer will focus on corporate debt issuance, mortgage-backed securities and structured finance transactions, Barclays said.
