Bankers who have spent years winding down non-core assets are shifted to Barclays' financial institutions group in London

Barclays has parachuted at least 10 senior bankers who have spent years helping to offload its non-core businesses into a team advising other financial institutions on similar matters.

Francesco Ceccato, head of strategy and corporate development, has been named co-head of Barclays' financial institutions group (FIG) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa alongside Mike Lamb, according to people familiar with the matter.
