Barclays just stopped offering its UK staff free food and drink during their time in the office. Traders and support staff still trekking into Canary Wharf will now have to pay, or find sustenance outside of its London headquarters.

"This offer was originally made to support colleagues while there were fewer of the usual alternative food and beverage options outside of the office," Barclays said in a memo to staff seen by Financial News. The scheme will end from 4 October, it added, and staff can buy food and drink from onsite eateries "in takeaway boxes".
