Bats Chi-X Europe and Bank of America Merrill Lynch emerged as the big winners at last night's annual Financial News Awards for Excellence in Trading and Technology, Europe.

More than 300 guests and award nominees gathered at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, as Bats Chi-X Europe scooped the awards for Exchange Group of the Year and, as in 2014, Best Equities Trading Platform, while its chief executive Mark Hemsley won the Decade of Excellence Award.
