Credit Suisse vice chair will also be the first person from a wholesale banking background to lead trade body's board in its 96-year history

BBA picks first female chair

Noreen Doyle, a Credit Suisse board member who also chairs the Swiss bank's UK broker dealer subsidiary, is to become the first person from the wholesale banking sector – and the first woman – to chair the British Bankers' Association since it was set up nearly a century ago.

Credit Suisse vice chairman and lead independent director Doyle, who has held those roles since 2014 and has sat on the Swiss banking group's board since 2004, also chairs its Credit Suisse International and Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) regulated subsidiaries in the UK.
