Bear Stearns hires BoA technology investment banking head

Bear Stearns has hired Barry Newman as vice chairman of its technology group from the equivalent team in the investment banking division of Bank of America.

Newman joins Bear Stearns as a senior managing director based out of the bank's newly opened Palo Alto office in California. He will report to David Glaser, co-head of investment banking.
