Bearish credit investors reject complex structures

Investors are pessimistic about the outlook for issuance next year and have turned against complex structured credit derivatives products as credit conditions have worsened.

Hansol Kim, director in the corporate finance group at US insurer Financial Security Assurance, told a Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association conference in New York last week: "Products such as constant proportion debt obligations have gone away and are not going to come back any time soon."
