One of Bell Pottinger’s most senior account managers has left the scandal-hit public relations firm as it fights to retain clients and top staff after two damning reports found it ran a “racially divisive” campaign in South Africa.

John Sunnucks, who was chairman of the group's financial PR arm, has quit Bell Pottinger and is considering launching his own business with other members of his former team, according to people familiar with the matter.
